The chiropractic adjustment is used to correct misalignments in your spine. Spinal adjustments are painless and non-invasive techniques to begin re-aligning your spine. We adjust patients of all ages and tailor each adjustment to you specifically. We perform manual adjustments in our office and make direct contacts on your spine.
Adjustments help restore proper spinal and nervous system function, promoting the healing process. We use two proven ways to assess your spine for normal spinal alignment. One way to assess for normal spinal alignment is with postural examination, the other is seen with x-ray findings. When adjusting your spine, we do not just focus on one area. For example if you are having neck pain, we may not just adjust your neck. We assess the whole body from the head to the ribs, ribs to the pelvis, and pelvis to the toes. If there are misalignments or subluxations in your spine, we aim to correct all points of interference.
In our office we utilize Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP) Technique and Diversified Technique, which focuses on correction of the spine rather than symptom care or relief care only. We want to get to the cause of your problems and not just treat the symptoms. We also utilized Flexion/Distraction to help stretch out the muscles, discs and improve range of motion prior to your adjustment.
When you receive an adjustment in the office, we have a template of your x-rays in your file that we use when adjusting you, so we can tailor each adjustment specifically to the subluxations (misalignments) in your spine. Your adjustment starts with your mid back region first, and then we check your low back and pelvis and finish by checking your upper back and neck. We also check your posture each time you are in following your adjustment to chart the progress you are making in regaining your "normal" postural alignment.
